Why Are Field (In-Situ) Tests Indispensable?
Although laboratory tests provide highly valuable data for design purposes, in some soil types—such as coarse gravel soils, faulted formations, or very soft layers—it is physically impossible to obtain undisturbed samples and transport them to the laboratory. Moreover, a large soil mass may behave very differently as a whole compared to a small specimen tested in the laboratory. Field tests allow engineers to analyze soil in its natural state, including groundwater conditions, in-situ stress state, and layer continuity. Especially for compaction control in earthworks, pile foundation design, and geotechnical investigations of heavy industrial structures, in-situ testing provides the most reliable scientific basis for determining project safety factors.

Menard Pressuremeter Test (TS EN ISO 22476-4): Using a special probe inserted into boreholes, we apply radial pressure to the soil to accurately determine limit pressure and deformation (pressuremeter) modulus. This is essential for deep foundation and retaining system design.

Plate Load Test (TS 5744): By applying incremental loads through a rigid steel plate on the soil surface using a hydraulic system, we determine bearing capacity and subgrade reaction modulus in situ. It provides reliable results for raft foundations and road subgrade design.

Sand Cone Method for In-Situ Density (TS 13872): We verify whether compacted fill materials in highways, dams, airports, and building earthworks have reached the required compaction level directly on site.
